Who We Are

Mission

Rose Mapendo Foundation endeavors for orphans and widows in the DRC, Rwanda and Burundi to work together, regardless of religious, tribal or political differences, to achieve peace and reconciliation in the region, and also the potential of disadvantaged working women and their orphans to succeed in life through providing education, health care, livelihood skills and community development services. 

Vision

Rose Mapendo Foundation envisions a society where all orphans, children and widows have hope and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and all people live in dignity and security.

Our Strategy

The journey in a new strategic direction.

The rising that drives our vision is our strategy. Through the foundation’s 2024-2029 strategy, we are rising to challenge of caring of some of the most disadvantaged people in Great Lakes Region in East Africa who are burdened with violence and extermination because of who they are and where they were born. The foundation work and advocacy partners with private entities, communities and philanthropists to create social change and bring peace and reconciliation in the region. Our services range from education, empowerment an advocacy. The foundation over the years; continues to direct its interventions within the framework of its Strategic Operation Plan 2024-2029.
